Details: Each year I do this January song-a-day thing, I allow myself to do an instrumental guitar composition. I'm not the slickest or most well practiced guitarist, but I enjoy putting together a fun tune that's within my abilities. Still, it can be grueling, because it's easier to make egregious errors on intricate guitar parts. It only took a little over and hour to write this tune, but it took over 2 hours to record it. This one was the best take I could do before giving up.
Today is the 3rd day of Timmy Riordan's Fearless Songwriting Challenge, and today's prompt was "A Signature". Before I decided to do an instrumental, I was thinking that it would make sense to build around a guitar riff again, because a riff is kind of a musical signature. So I feel that an instrumental is appropriate for the prompt (if technically a cheat). Also, I'd say that the tune does a pretty good job of showcasing my guitar style (for better or worse).
