Vote For The Dave Coile Array!!!

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

This is the half hour set that I performed with 2 of my 4 bandmates at Bootstrap Brewery a couple weeks ago. I'm eligible for a full, Thursday night gig, but their system involves potential performers getting "votes" from their fans, just to show that we have a following.

PLEASE VOTE FOR THE DAVE COILE ARRAY!!!
Here's the link for voting:

The bands are listed chronologically based on when they performed, so scroll down to 3/31, and you'll see our colorful band picture. This is NOT a competition; if you see other bands you like, you should vote for them, too. And it doesn't matter if you're local, either-- I'll make a point of live streaming the show if we get it.

Thanks for helping get my music out to the masses!

Song-a-day January 2025 Is Complete!

Another Song-a-day January is in the books! This is the 6th time I've done this project, and the 5th time I managed to write 31 new songs in 31 days (one year I only wrote 20). Huge thanks to all of my co-writers: Josh Elioseff, Andy Ard, Peggy Kay, Anna Yale M French, Chad Mathis, Helen Peterson, Karen Finch, Todd Hawkins, Trish Applegate-Loetz, Robby Layton and Pony Lee! And also a huge thanks to Timmy Riordan and his Fearless Songwriter program, which provided prompts and community for the 2nd week of January. (P.S., if you're a local songwriter who wants to co-write with me, please feel free to reach out).

I'm going to take a little break from songwriting and songwriting-related activities for a few days, but I wanted to leave you with this word cloud drawn from the lyrics of all the songs.

If you want to listen again to any of the songs, or get caught up on ones you've missed, here's a handy dandy YouTube Playlist.

Also, if you're feeling generous and want to help support my creative endeavors (which also includes various podcasts and special shows), please consider joining my Patreon page or sending a one time donation to me via Venmo @DaveCoile or paypal.me/DaveCoile

This is my favorite project to do every year, because it's a chance for unfettered creativity, but also works as outreach and community building. It's also a great to start off the New Year actually accomplishing something. Thanks for being a companion on my journey!

Vote for Me!

Hey! Did I mention I'm part of a fundraiser? I put together an original song with my pal Troy Fluhr, and I'm hoping that you'll listen to it and "vote" for it to win the Sheridan Idol contest. In order to vote, you have to donate to a worthy cause, the Sharing with Sheridan Food Pantry, which is helping to feed families in these trying times.

Check out my music video: here

Sheridan Idol!

Hey, folks! I'm performing as part of a fundraiser for the Sheridan Food Pantry (Yay!). For the last several years, I have teamed up with Troy Fluhr as the the MCs for the Sheridan Celebrates Parade. Unfortunately, it's been cancelled this year, but they're continuing on with their Sheridan Idol contest to raise funds for this year's beneficiary: The Sharing with Sheridan Food Pantry.

Over the last 5 years, Sharing with Sheridan has been operated entirely by volunteers who are committed to bringing food security to nearly 1800 families in south metro Denver. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, the number of families being served more than tripled.

So there are two worthy causes. 1) You're going to help feed a lot of people during difficult times, and 2) You get to see the nifty song that I wrote and performed with my buddy Troy (and it's a beautiful song). So donate to vote today!

July Shows!

Cheyenne, Dave, Macy.jpgAfter a unusually cool and rainy June, July promises to bring the heat! Here are some hot upcoming shows:

On Sunday, July 7th, The Very Nice Songwriter Showcase will return, this time with two of Loveland's finest! Cheyenne Dane rocks out on the harp more than most can on a guitar! She sings with reckless passion about the most personal of experiences, and you won't walk away unchanged. Macy Warner's powerful vocals are balanced by the subtlety and nuance of her songwriting. This teenage prodigy is bound to take the Front Range by storm! And, of course, I'll be holding down the fort with my diverse brand of bittersweet, sardonic, silly and sad songs. It'll be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Very Nice Brewing Company, 20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland, CO.

Casey Jones Kick-Off.jpg
In September, I'll be doing my first festival-- the Casey Jones Music Fest! But on July 13th, we're going to give you a taste of what's in store. I'll be joined by some of great local musicians who'll also be participating in the festival: Antonio Lopez, Shanna in a Dress, and the John Bunzli Band! We'll be there from 6 to 8 p.m. at Still Cellars, 1115 Colorado Avenue, Longmont, CO.

Old Chicago has been a mainstay for me over the last year, and I'll be returning on Friday, July 26th from 7 to 10 p.m. I'll be joined by Jay Allen with his big bass and charming charango. We're also going to be adding a bit of harmony with Trish Applegate-Loetz sitting in with us for a set. Come get some pizza, beer and great music! 1805 Industrial Circle, Longmont, CO.

Of course, it wouldn't be summer without appearing at Bands on the Bricks! We're going to open the show with our most upbeat material before you get down and get funky with the Groove A Licious! The Pearl Street Mall is one of the most scenic downtown areas in all of Colorado; come take in the outdoor goodness! 1300 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO

***
Thompson Park.jpgFor you songwriters out there, come check out Songwriting in the Park on Sunday, July 21st. Songwriting can be an isolating activity-- but it doesn't have to be! We're turning Longmont's Thompson Park into a giant shared workspace for songwriters. The abundant trees will be our cubicles, and when you need to take a break, you'll have co-workers nearby for "water-cooler talk". You can work alone or with others. We'll have song prompts, potential writing partners, a chance to share or workshop your songs, and a beautiful outdoor setting to inspire new pieces. Drop-in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and join the local songwriting community! 400 Bross Street, Longmont, CO.

I'll hope to see you at one of these exquisite events. Summer isn't the same without you!

Summer is just about here, which means it's time for The Very Nice Songwriter Showcase to renew! The first showcase is this Sunday, June 2nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Very Nice Brewing Company (20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland, CO). On Thursday, June 6th from 6 to 9 p.m., I'll be playing Live @ LoCo from 6 to 9 p.m. (LoCo Artisan Coffee House, 544 Cleveland Ave, Loveland, CO) with two amazing storytellers. Alicia Stockman is touring through Colorado with her "beautiful acoustic songs about loneliness and heartbreak" that are "folk-rock, with blues and a little country flavoring". Tim Ostdiek is a well-known singer-songwriter from Longmont; his feel-good, big-hearted and funky folk has been featured on the PBS program "Roadtrip Nation" and he's been a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. It's going to be a killer show!

I'll be joined by Karen Finch again at the Fox Hill Country Club (1400 State Highway 119, Longmont, CO) on Sunday, June 9th from 4 to 6 p.m. You'll get to enjoy her smokin' hot blues mixed with my bittersweet, sardonic, silly and sad songs on an outdoor patio overlooking the golf course.

Last, but not least, I'll be serenading the hungry folks attending the Loveland Food Truck Rally (700 S. Railroad Ave, Loveland, CO) on Wednesday, June 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. I'm going to be joined by Jay Allen on his big bass and charming charango. This Weekend: The Bevelers (and more)

I lived in Portland, OR for almost a year from the fall of 2012 through the summer of 2013.  During that time, I got to know this lady who ran an open mic at a cool little cafe in northwest part of the city.  As is often the case with open mic hosts, she had her own musical project going.  But what made Lee Aulson stand out was how her voice could be so powerful yet so sweet at the same time.

I heard a lot of great music in Portland, but Lee's musical duo, The Bevelers, was up there with the very best.  Music this unabashedly beautiful isn't always en vogue, but, damn, when these ladies get to playing, I just have to shut up and listen.  They're one of the groups I really miss getting to listen to when I lived out there.

Luckily, they're coming to the Denver-Boulder area!  If you get the chance, I strongly encourage you check them out:

(For all performances, they're sharing a bill with An American Forest)
9/5 Denver, CO - Illegal Pete’s DU at 9 pm
9/6 Boulder, CO - Trident Bookstore at 1 pm
9/6 Denver, CO - Park House at 10 pm

The ethereal beauty of their live performances is more arresting than any recording, but here's a link to one of their videos to get a taste:

If you're more in the mood for other singer-songwriter faire, my friend John Bunzli is going to be performing as a special guest of Tom Prasada Rao at The Atrium in Fort Collins this Friday night.  Here are some samples of both of their music:

First Full-Band Show Of 2026 at Chipper Lanes!
