Vote For The Dave Coile Array!!!

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

This is the half hour set that I performed with 2 of my 4 bandmates at Bootstrap Brewery a couple weeks ago. I'm eligible for a full, Thursday night gig, but their system involves potential performers getting "votes" from their fans, just to show that we have a following.

PLEASE VOTE FOR THE DAVE COILE ARRAY!!!
Here's the link for voting:

The bands are listed chronologically based on when they performed, so scroll down to 3/31, and you'll see our colorful band picture. This is NOT a competition; if you see other bands you like, you should vote for them, too. And it doesn't matter if you're local, either-- I'll make a point of live streaming the show if we get it.

Thanks for helping get my music out to the masses!

Song-a-day January Wrap-up!

What a tremendous month! Song-a-day January is my favorite time of year. Writing 31 songs in 31 days is exhausting, but its incredibly fulfilling! Thanks to all of you for checking out my music, and thanks to all of you who followed my page. If you want a quick way to see all the songs from this month, I put together a playlist on YouTube.

I'll be developing these songs throughout the year, performing them live, and eventually producing some nice audio recordings (maybe even a music video or two). So stick with me to see how it all goes down!

I want to give special shout-outs to all my collaborators, a handful of which are performing this afternoon as part of the Winter Walkabout Music Showcase in Longmont:
Teresa Storch is playing at 2:00 today at The Roost
Jeanne McAdara is playing at 2:30 at Absolute Vinyl Records & Stereo
Antonio Lopez is playing at 4:15 at 300 Suns Brewing

Other collaborators with upcoming gigs:
John Bunzli is hosting his Lovespace Showcase on February 9th
Finn O'Sullivan is playing February February 13th at the East Simpson Coffee Company
Barry Osborne on March 7th at the Mutiny Information Cafe

And just check up on the rest here:
Sadye Rose is co-proprietor of the wonderful distillery and art house, Still Cellars.
Sarah Marie Echsner is an award winning filmmaker at Little Feather Films
Kevin Dooley has several great albums available
BJ Suter is part of the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society
Karen Finch performs as both SteelvocalKaren and Purely Pearl
Jason Allen performs frequently with me, but also with The Renegade Rooster String Band

And, if you haven't already, please please please follow me at

A Year Ago Today...

It's not everyday I'm crowned royalty. I was the December Featured Artist of the Month for Sound Bridge Music last December. Rumor has it there's no Featured Artist for this December. I think that means I get to wear the crown again...

The Near Future...

For the next 6 months, I'll be in development mode. What does that mean?It means I won't be doing too many live shows (only when a stray opportunity pops up). Instead, I'll be focusing on writing, recording and editing.

In November, I hope to start recording an E.P. with one of my frequent collaborators, Cheyenne Dane. And I'm coming up with a strategy for releasing fully produced Singles on a more regular basis.

I'm excited to co-write with a bundle of new songwriters I've recently met. I plan to collaborate with some familiar faces, too. Of course, Song-a-day January is still on the menu, but expect more brand new songs outside of that month.

I still have several bits of footage from previous shows that I need to edit and post. And I haven't even touched all the footage I recorded of the co-writing I did last January-- I'm going to give you a full behind-the-scenes look at the collaborative process.

But before all that, October is here, and that means Halloween! I already have two short films in the works, and I'm busy writing a few Halloween "carols" (with the possibility of actually going from house to house singing them on or around Halloween). I'll also be bringing back some Halloween favorites from previous years.

So even though my live performances will be fewer and further between, it may actually result in more content here and on my social media. Be on the look out! And thanks for joining me on my creative journey...

July Shows!

Cheyenne, Dave, Macy.jpgAfter a unusually cool and rainy June, July promises to bring the heat! Here are some hot upcoming shows:

On Sunday, July 7th, The Very Nice Songwriter Showcase will return, this time with two of Loveland's finest! Cheyenne Dane rocks out on the harp more than most can on a guitar! She sings with reckless passion about the most personal of experiences, and you won't walk away unchanged. Macy Warner's powerful vocals are balanced by the subtlety and nuance of her songwriting. This teenage prodigy is bound to take the Front Range by storm! And, of course, I'll be holding down the fort with my diverse brand of bittersweet, sardonic, silly and sad songs. It'll be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Very Nice Brewing Company, 20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland, CO.

Casey Jones Kick-Off.jpg
In September, I'll be doing my first festival-- the Casey Jones Music Fest! But on July 13th, we're going to give you a taste of what's in store. I'll be joined by some of great local musicians who'll also be participating in the festival: Antonio Lopez, Shanna in a Dress, and the John Bunzli Band! We'll be there from 6 to 8 p.m. at Still Cellars, 1115 Colorado Avenue, Longmont, CO.
20160803_180832.jpg

Old Chicago has been a mainstay for me over the last year, and I'll be returning on Friday, July 26th from 7 to 10 p.m. I'll be joined by Jay Allen with his big bass and charming charango. We're also going to be adding a bit of harmony with Trish Applegate-Loetz sitting in with us for a set. Come get some pizza, beer and great music! 1805 Industrial Circle, Longmont, CO.

Of course, it wouldn't be summer without appearing at Bands on the Bricks! We're going to open the show with our most upbeat material before you get down and get funky with the Groove A Licious! The Pearl Street Mall is one of the most scenic downtown areas in all of Colorado; come take in the outdoor goodness! 1300 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO

***
Thompson Park.jpgFor you songwriters out there, come check out Songwriting in the Park on Sunday, July 21st. Songwriting can be an isolating activity-- but it doesn't have to be! We're turning Longmont's Thompson Park into a giant shared workspace for songwriters. The abundant trees will be our cubicles, and when you need to take a break, you'll have co-workers nearby for "water-cooler talk". You can work alone or with others. We'll have song prompts, potential writing partners, a chance to share or workshop your songs, and a beautiful outdoor setting to inspire new pieces. Drop-in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and join the local songwriting community! 400 Bross Street, Longmont, CO.

I'll hope to see you at one of these exquisite events. Summer isn't the same without you!
