Day 18: Baby, Who Hurt You?
Part of my song-a-day writing project for January 2024
Lyrics:
I can leave you alone
If that's how you want it to be
But the reasons why
Well, there's still some mystery
Come on, give me a clue
Oh, baby, who hurt you?
Well, the feelings of Love
Ain't always reciprocal
But to feel it at all
It's still something beautiful
Something we could work through
But somebody hurt you
It don't have to be cruel
Oh, baby, who hurt you?
Even the best of friends
Can't always be lovers
But there are still secrets
They share with one another
Before they fall away
I guess that this is goodbye
Or until we meet again
And you may not speak to me
But I'll always have the question
I wish that I knew
Oh, baby, who hurt you?
Come on, tell me the truth
Oh, baby, who hurt you?
Baby, who hurt you?

Details:
Not much to say about this one. I started with a beat like "Keeping the Faith" by Billy Joel or "Faith" by George Michael, and then used the song to work out some personal sh!t. Pretty straight-forward song.
