After a unusually cool and rainy June, July promises to bring the heat! Here are some hot upcoming shows:
On Sunday, July 7th, The Very Nice Songwriter Showcase will return, this time with two of Loveland's finest! Cheyenne Dane rocks out on the harp more than most can on a guitar! She sings with reckless passion about the most personal of experiences, and you won't walk away unchanged. Macy Warner's powerful vocals are balanced by the subtlety and nuance of her songwriting. This teenage prodigy is bound to take the Front Range by storm! And, of course, I'll be holding down the fort with my diverse brand of bittersweet, sardonic, silly and sad songs. It'll be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Very Nice Brewing Company, 20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland, CO.
In September, I'll be doing my first festival-- the Casey Jones Music Fest! But on July 13th, we're going to give you a taste of what's in store. I'll be joined by some of great local musicians who'll also be participating in the festival: Antonio Lopez, Shanna in a Dress, and the John Bunzli Band! We'll be there from 6 to 8 p.m. at Still Cellars, 1115 Colorado Avenue, Longmont, CO.
Old Chicago has been a mainstay for me over the last year, and I'll be returning on Friday, July 26th from 7 to 10 p.m. I'll be joined by Jay Allen with his big bass and charming charango. We're also going to be adding a bit of harmony with Trish Applegate-Loetz sitting in with us for a set. Come get some pizza, beer and great music! 1805 Industrial Circle, Longmont, CO.
Of course, it wouldn't be summer without appearing at Bands on the Bricks! We're going to open the show with our most upbeat material before you get down and get funky with the Groove A Licious! The Pearl Street Mall is one of the most scenic downtown areas in all of Colorado; come take in the outdoor goodness! 1300 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO

For you songwriters out there, come check out Songwriting in the Park on Sunday, July 21st. Songwriting can be an isolating activity-- but it doesn't have to be! We're turning Longmont's Thompson Park into a giant shared workspace for songwriters. The abundant trees will be our cubicles, and when you need to take a break, you'll have co-workers nearby for "water-cooler talk". You can work alone or with others. We'll have song prompts, potential writing partners, a chance to share or workshop your songs, and a beautiful outdoor setting to inspire new pieces. Drop-in anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and join the local songwriting community! 400 Bross Street, Longmont, CO.

I'll hope to see you at one of these exquisite events. Summer isn't the same without you!
