I co-wrote this song with local bassist Amber Brown. It's a emotional tune about when your child leaves home. We managed to put this together in about 4 hours.
Boring Details: I've worked with Amber on some songs that we've played at open mics, and briefly put together a punk rock band with her. She has a great passion for the blues and comedy, neither of which comes out in this song. Instead, we based the song on an emotional episode she recently went through.
Amber is hilarious! We spent a good portion of our time yucking it up. It was good fun, but Amber is also a really good writer, having been a blogger in the past. She came up with some striking imagery for the lyrics; I focused mostly on the musical aspect of the song, and because of that and the subject matter, it seemed most appropriate for Amber to sing the song.
