Lyrics:
Already half past gone
Don't think I'll ever see Jesus
Because the child inside me
Thinks whatever he pleases
Can't tell a fine vibration
From a shiver in the cold
I wonder if I'll find true love
Before I grow too old
But you would be perfect for me
Had my fair share of disappointment
I've found diamonds on the rough
I've found flowers in the desert
But I was never enough
But you would be perfect for me
You make the cold wind warm
You make the still Earth quake
You make the child of old reawake
Well the future comes to spite me
It neglects the deeds I've done
But I'm prepared to move forward
Even if I walk alone
But you would be perfect for me
Details: I set out to write some sort of heavy metal tune, but ended up with this. What you don't hear is the epic production in my head, with back-up singers harmonizing and huge guitar solos. More Pink Floyd than Def Leppard, but anyway. The lyrics are just me being mopey about romance and missed opportunities.
This took about 4 hours to write and (surprisingly) an hour to record.
I can hear the band, too!
ReplyDeleteRight? It's totally a production piece waiting to happen...
